Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea was the science-fiction film directed by Irwin Allen and released around 1961. Walter Pidgeon starred as Admiral Nelson, commander of USOS Seaview, a futuristic atomic submarine, alongside Joan Fontaine, Barbara Eden, and Peter Lorre. A theme song is sung by Frankie Avalon, who too has the section in the film.
A plot involves a Van Allen radiation belt catching fire while the submarine is in the Arctic Ocean, inducing a fatal spherical heat wave. Pain for people in board a submarine begins while it emerges there is a saboteur amongst them.
A film is riddled sustaining scientific & technical indicator absurdities (for example, a Van Allen belt is subatomic particles which cannot erupt, potentially whenever there was oxygen in space), and the plot is caused by piling of these disaster in top of a second (a minefield, the hostile submarine, a giant squid, a touching-mutiny and a religious fanatic, to name two or three). An additional peculiarity is that the crew has naval nature & severity ranks and uniforms, however a submarine is privately owned (a ridiculous expenditure for even any corporation or non-non-profit-making professional).
Touching a prevent of a film a saboteur is unmasked, so fall under the sub's aquarium during the fight & is eaten by a shark that the sub's marine biologist just happens to have on board for search purposes.
Yet, despite the efforts of a fiend to block it, the sub launches a nuclear missile into a belt, extinguishing the fire & saving the world.
a title of the film is an inversion of a sentence appearing at just about its instance, on the exploration of the Arctic Ocean by nuclear submarines, viz., "a voyage to the top of the world." There is no big submarine could email a davy jones's locker in the high seas & safely go to.
